What is Mbps?

Mbps or Megabits per second is a term to define internet speed. A better way to define Mbps would be the amount of megabits you can download per second. An example would be, if you download a 60 Megabit file and your internet service is set at 1 Mbps, it would take approximately 60 seconds to download that file.

Data Caps

When searching internet services, one question you should always ask is; Are there any data caps?

What are data caps and what internet providers have them?

Data caps limit the amount of data you can download. This means if you stream a lot of movies, you may want to find a different option. With our 3 standard cable and DSL plans there are usually no data caps involved! This means you can download till you drop and never get shut off or over charged. If you are rural you will need to go with either a wireless or satellite internet provider. Satellite internet is now faster than ever and can stream up to 12 Megabits in certain areas. One thing with satellite internet services is they do have a data cap. The good news is the Viasat (Exede) satellite internet provider has recently launched Evolution. Evolution gives you unlimited web usage/emails and 5 Gigs for everything else! Evolution is awesome and our rural customers have been loving it. Call one of our representatives and ask about Viasat (Exede) Evolution today.
